A new version of JMonitoring is born to suit to the new versions of Joomla.
JMonitoring V2 is made of :
- a Master Website component for 1.6/1.7
- a Distant Website component for 1.5
- a Distant Website component for 1.6/1.7
- Additional plugins for Master Website and Distant Websites
The technology we use has also changed : the communication is no more established with XML-RPC but with JSON. This allows us to easily adapt the component and JMonitoring doesn't require an external class any more. Indeed, JSON is included in PHP.
The authentification method has changed too : JMonitoring doesn't use loggin and password to access the Distant Website any more but a secret word.
Additional plugins is the brand new function of JMonitoring. There are two types of plugins :
- Plugins for Distant Websites : allows to monitor other values that are not checked by the native JMonitoring system.
- Plugins for Master Website : allows to handle differently JMonitoring's alert. For example, you could do a gateway for SMS.
This new version comes along with a new website too which will allow our users to download JMonitoring easily, having access to an up-to-date documentation and asking their questions in a forum dedicated to JMonitoring only.
We hope that all of these new stuff will make our user's experience better than ever.
